Success in previous projects together led the Karla Smith Foundation to approach The Net Impact, a St. Louis based web design and Internet marketing firm, to redesign the foundation’s new website, which launched May 18, 2011. The Karla Smith Foundation supports families affected by mental illness and suicide, and the nonprofit’s newly redesigned website, KarlaSmithFoundation.org, offers resources on coping strategies and suicide survivor support.
“Once again, the talented team at The Net Impact delivered the right product for our organization. The new look and feel of our website represents who we are and allows us to better connect with our growing audience as we continue to erase the stigma of mental illness and suicide. In addition, the Auctori content management system really is as easy to use as they told us it would be,” said Kevin Smith, Co-Founder and Vice President of the Karla Smith Foundation.
Prior to the launch of their new website, The Karla Smith Foundation and The Net Impact worked together to create an event website and social media campaign for Change a Mind, Change a Life a mental health awareness and anti-stigma event which partnered with BringChange2Mind and Glenn Close. The Net Impact will be hosting and maintaining the nonprofit’s website in addition to providing search engine optimization services.
“The launch of the Karla Smith Foundation website will inevitably increase online awareness around the cause and help to support those affected by mental illness. Having their website in the Auctori content management platform provides the Karla Smith Foundation team with the opportunity to add new events and expand their website as their organization continues to grow, in turn, keeping their loyal community of supporters connected and engaged with updated web content. We are honored to have worked with such a phenomenal organization,” said Mandy Christanell, Project Manager at The Net Impact.
Founded by Tom, Fran, and Kevin Smith in honor of the memory of their daughter and sister, Karla, the Karla Smith Foundation (KSF) is an avenue to share family experiences, which similarly impact thousands of others.
